#21

Now that I have had some time to calm down from last
nights computer fiasco, I am ready to retype the gist
of this episode. It took me at least 20 minutes last
night, so there is no telling what I am going to
include and leave out at this time.

On Wednesday at lunch the air rade siren went off.
This was also accompanied by the sounds of jets flying
overhead. I was told that they used to have these all
the time, but they now only happen once every three
months or so. I guess one needs to expect that in a
country that is still technically at war.

The autumn picnic yesterday went fairly well, though I
was rather exhausted when I finally got back to Kids
Club. And to think I still had to teach until 7:30! I
would give you the rundown of what all happend, but I
don't really recall, and I figure I should save you
all the time it would take to read the somewhat
useless writtings.

I was finally told where to go to find the directions
to the Tae kwon do place that exchanges lessons for
English lessons. I attempted to go today, but the
Taxie driver took me to a place that was within
walking distance and this place is not supposed to
be. I am not sure what happend, but apparently what
the head teacher wrote was not quite accurate, or else
the taxi driver missread it. I have to ask her about
it on Monday, or ask someone at the English Club
tomorrow. I figure they just may know something about
the areas in there own city.

And now for a change in direction :) Actually I wanted
to inform you that I have been reading a Moons Guide
to Korea book between the times I pick up the current
reading challenge I have presented to myself: Return
of the Native by Thomas Hardy.

In the book I discovered the side on which pedestrians
are supposed to walk!! You can have no idea how
excited this made me feel at least for the first
couple of minutes or so. It seems that pedestrians are
supposed to walk on the left. I am not sure where this
rule came from, but there it was right before me.

Then I did the one thing that tends to get more people
in trouble than anything else: I thought. What I
thought about seemed harmless enough it was the
arrows on the crosswalks that tell which direction you
are supposed to go. What is the harm in thinking of
these? Well, the arrows are set up directing people to
walk on the right side! I find this to be quite
interesting. At least I sort of know why it seems like
most people walk against those arrows. I wonder what
they teach people about things such as that. I think I
will bring that up tomorrow as well.

Now I am going to ask for help. Halloween is
approaching and the head teacher, who absolutely loves
Halloween, is spearheading an oportaion to have the
students go from class to class and play games. Now, I
being so low on creativity, and fairly anti-holliday
all the way around, I am having a hard time coming up
with a game for them to play.

The game needs to be something appropreate for about 6
students or so. It also needs to be something that
kids aged 7-15 would enjoy doing and it needs to be
Halloween related. If you have any ideas, I would
appreciate if you would pass them on rather quickly. I
would have asked sooner, but I didn't find out until
just yesterday.

I am going to let this be the end. I am tired and I
want to go home soon to rest. Think about it I am
going home to rest on a Friday evening. I really need
a life.
